History

The Summerland Fire Department was established in 1949.  Today we serve a population of approximately 11,700 residents from one central fire hall with a fire protection area of 67 square km. (26 square miles)

The Summerland Fire Department consists of 4 Career Firefighters and 30 Auxiliary Firefighters.


Firefighting equipment includes, two engines, one rescue, one water tender, one CAFS squad unit, one bush truck, two pickups, and one administration vehicle.
